May 17th marks International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT).

Against a backdrop of the events of the past 12 month, this year’s theme “Together: Resisting, Supporting and Healing” serves a rallying call. Together we resist can homophobia, biphobia, intersexism and transphobia in our workplaces, we can continue to support one another, particularly our colleagues living and working in parts of the world where the lives and safety of LGBTIQ+ people are continually at risk, and with each step forward we can and will collectively heal. This year’s theme also gives us an opportunity to spotlight many of the issues LGBTIQ+ personnel and dependents continue to face as highlighted in our annual statement for IDAHOBIT.

We encourage you all to share our statement along with these posters (JPEG & PDF) on your social media accounts.

UN-GLOBE advocates for the equality and non-discrimination of all LGBTIQ+ staff in the UN system and its peacekeeping operations. UN-GLOBE board members and coordinators are volunteers and we have no official UN funding. UN-GLOBE thus relies on contributions from our members and various UN entities to bring you programming and to support UN-GLOBE activities in the field.
